Through practice and research, Building Ways has developed a set of key sustainable design principles that underpin Mooradian Studio’s design approach as well as the educational philosophy that has formed the curriculum of the EPQ in architecture and The Oshakan Project. How to Build in a Gentle Way outlines this philosophy in an accessible way and offers a handbook for students, practitioners and the general public more widely.
How To Build In A Gentle Way
How to Build in a Gentle Way outlines key principles of sustainable building culture and takes readers through key historical figures who have shaped sustainable design philosophies.
In 2018, Mooradian Studio was approached by the well-known obstetrician Dr Marie Gowri Motha, to develop proposals for a birth clinic and retreat in Tamil Nadu, India. Whilst carrying out research for the clinic we came across a range of local sustainable construction approaches, which inspired the broader research of this book.
